What happens on a Relaxing Yoga Retreat?

A retreat is when you press life’s “pause button”. It allows time for yourself, time to let go of responsibilities, time to let go of stress, to relax completely. There will be a choice of asana (postures) stretching, Pranayama (breathing), visualisation, meditation, laughter, walking, fun, relaxation, silence, stillness and inner peace – a balance of all that life can be.

You decide what you do with your time on these weekends. You can join in the sessions, sleep, walk, lay in the bath, read or do absolutely nothing—anything that feels right for you. If you’ve never practiced Yoga before there may be postures that you won’t want / be able to try but that’s fine. In Yoga everyone works at their own level. There are sessions of fun and laughter to encourage release of tension, also times of calm silence to allow you to go within.

  • I’ve really enjoyed this week. I feel relaxed but stronger and fitter.
  • Thank you carol, I have learnt a lot and enjoyed the walking and yoga. I especially  liked the meditation and silence in the evenings.
  • I can highly recommend the holiday.  There was a good mix of yoga, walking and enjoying being in Arillas.   The yoga was suitable for a range of abilities and very enjoyable.  Carol provided a full programme of activities, but no pressure if you wanted to go and do your own thing.  Carol and Sue made everything fun and the other people on the retreat were good company. Arillas is a lovely holiday venue with cafés, shops and beach and not crowded at that time of the year. The weather at the beginning of October was sunny and warm.  I am looking forward to coming on the next retreat. Lesley
  • A wonderful experience. Carol put her heart and soul into the yoga and walking holiday. A very experienced yoga teacher, with very good knowledge of the area in and around Arillas, she happily shared all this in beautiful yoga classes and walks around the area. All in all a great holiday. Chris.
